ABOUT THIS EVENT
A unique opportunity to delve into the Ancient Traditions of Yoga, Vedic Wisdom & Ayurveda.
This day retreat is hosted by Sang & Trish who have been immersed in Traditional Vedic & Yogic Teachings for many years.
Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life.
Ayurveda is the world’s oldest and most comprehensive system of natural medicine. Ayurveda is the science of life, vitality and longevity. It locates the source of vitality, the foundation of your health, at the level of the doshas, which govern all the aspects of your body and mind.
In this day retreat, you will have the opportunity to learn a variety of pranayama techniques, practice Hatha/Vinyasa yoga, create social cohesion with other wellness lovers, discover your dosha and relax at stunning lakeside studio Restful Waters in the Perth Hills.
Learn a series of Pranayama techniques.
Prana’ means breath or life force and ‘ayama’ means to control. So, you can think of it as a set of practices to control the ‘prana’ within your body through breathing techniques. Pranayama breathing techniques are thought to have come into existence around the same time as yoga and meditation in India, around 5000 BC.
Practice Hatha + Slow Flow Yoga
Haṭha yoga is a branch of yoga. The Sanskrit word हठ haṭha literally means “force” and thus alludes to a system of physical techniques. In India, Haṭha yoga is associated in popular tradition with the Yogis.
Slow flowing Vinyasa is a wonderful practice in discovering one’s personal limitations and learning how to move past those limitations. Slow Flow Yoga is not restricted to beginners or those with physical limitations. All levels of Yoga practitioners can find their personal challenges, as they slowly and mindfully move through a series.
We look forward to hosting you for a day of yoga practice and traditional wisdom.
