ABOUT THIS EVENT
Progressively strengthen & stabilise your core, improve balance & coordination and relax as you bring your awareness into your body and onto the breath.
This 4 week course, designed by experienced Pilates instructor Tracy Savill, is designed for beginners who would like to progress beyond the basics of Pilates, towards an intermediate level. Learn and embrace the 6 principles of Pilates; beathing, concentration, control, centre, flow and precision.
What will we cover each week?
Week 1
Making Progress on Stability.
We visit the basics of stability and build endurance in the core stabiliser muscles. Some small equipment will be introduced to assist with muscle mobilisation and to challenge stability. End with a short, guided meditation.
Week 2
Enhancing Posture. The focus for this session will be standing work: targeting the muscles that enable good balance and alignment. This is a challenging class that will help to support and strengthen overall core stability. End with a short, guided meditation.
Week 3
Increasing Strength. In this session we will use our body weight to create resistance and build core strength and stability; a classical approach to Pilates. Even though strength will be worked on, the continual use of rhythmic breathing will support a serene and relaxed body & mind. End with a short, guided meditation.
Week 4
Moving Beyond Basics. This week will be a wrap up of all the key components covered in the course; mobility, stretching, stability and strength. We will use small equipment to firstly roll-out and release tight and sore muscles. After loosening the body there will be stretching and strength work. End with a short, guided meditation.
This course is suited for anyone who has completed the 4 week beginner course OR has had some basic Pilates experience. It is recommended for anyone who may be experiencing discomfort or pain in:
- Neck and shoulders, Lower back, Hips, Glutes and Headaches
It is also recommended for anyone who:
– Sits at a desk all day
– Works out regularly at the gym
– Engages in physical manual labour

Tracy is an experienced and APMA Diploma accredited Pilates Movement Facilitator for this 4 week course. Come and join her to learn how to connect into your body, strengthen and stabilise the core muscles of the body, stretch out the tension and use the breath to de-stress and calm the nervous system.
